Kav is a full-time photographer and author of 400+ articles. He is also a judge on the Wanderlust Magazine Photography of the Year competition and leads small group photo tours around the world.
Kav is a professional photographer, writer and co-founder of the award-winning travel magazine, JRNY. His career in the industry began shortly after leaving the London College of Printing with a degree in art direction and design. As part of his degree, he also had to study photography and thus spent many afternoons in the darkroom developing his images. After a brief stint working as an art director in the world of advertising, Kav returned to his true passion, travel photography.
That was almost two decades ago and since then, Kav’s images have appeared in just about every noteworthy travel publication and brand around the world. His photos have appeared online and in print in the likes of National Geographic, Wanderlust Travel Magazine, Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, Nat Geo Traveller, Mercedes Benz, American Express and many other UK and international newspapers and magazines.
These days most of Kav’s time is spent on the highly acclaimed travel magazine that he co-launched during the pandemic. In just 18 months and three issues, JRNY has gone on to be stocked around the world in the likes of WHSmith, Barnes & Noble and other retailers.
As well as managing JRNY, Kav also regularly runs photography tours and workshops in the UK and around the world through his company That Wild Idea. Recent trips have included Iceland, Namibia and Scotland.
