James has been a professional photographer and award-winning journalist for the past 15 years. He is editor of Practical Photoshop magazine and contributes to leading photography publications worldwide.
James is an award-winning journalist and photographer with wide-ranging experience, from shooting in Africa for National Geographic to photographing King Charles. As a journalist he contributes to industry-leading photography titles like Digital Camera magazine, Amateur Photographer and NPhoto, and regularly writes features for the Canon Europe and Picfair sites. His commercial clients include the National Trust, Arthur Beale, Rotolight and Cewe Photoworld.
James graduated from Westminster University in 2005 and worked as a studio portrait photographer before beginning a career in journalism with Future Publishing, and was awarded New Journalist of the Year at the Professional Publishers Association awards in 2013. He currently works as a freelance journalist and photographer, taking on commercial clients alongside his regular monthly articles. As editor of Practical Photoshop magazine, he’s also an expert in digital imaging with a vast library of tutorials to his name.
