Picfair has announced that from July 27th 2023, all users on a free Lite plan will no longer be able to publish their Store. Lite users will need to upgrade to a Picfair Plus subscription in order to make their Stores viewable by the public and their photos available to purchase.

- Picfair Lite Stores will be unpublished on July 27th. Keeping your Store published beyond July 27th will require a Picfair Plus subscription

- You now have access to Picfair Plus features until July 27th

Q: Why is Picfair doing this?

‍

Picfair has grown into one of the biggest photography communities in the world with the support of hundreds of individual investors. But, like all companies, our aim is to reach a position where we can sustain ourselves, rather than rely on external investment.

Until now, Picfair’s Lite tier has included a wide range of functionality and features for free - a dedicated and secure URL, the ability to sell a range of digital downloads, international print production and shipping, image security, and lots more.

This functionality is expensive to build and maintain, and we have reached the very difficult decision that in order to grow sustainably and keep investing in our mission to create the home that your photography deserves, we can no longer give this functionality away for free.

Q: Can I try Picfair Plus features before I choose to upgrade?

‍

Yes. All Picfair Lite users have now been given access to Picfair Plus features, for free: 

‍

- Choose from multiple Store layout and colour scheme options

- Add or make a logo for your store

- Create your own custom watermarks

- Add a splash intro image for your store

- Curate your images into albums

Images on your Store are also now viewable in Slideshow Mode, image search has been enabled, and you’re now able to add a profile pic and bio to your Store too. Head over to your Store dashboard to see all of the features you now have access to - and we’ve also published a series of feature guides to show you exactly how to use them.

These will be reflected on your published Store until July 27th, after which Stores remaining on a Lite tier will be unpublished. These Picfair Plus features will remain available to use on your dashboard after July 27th, but you will only be able to view and customize your store in a preview mode.

Q: What will happen to my Store if I’m on a Lite tier and I don’t upgrade to Picfair Plus by July 27th?

‍

All your settings and images will be saved, and you will continue to be able to customize and add to your Store in a preview mode. But your Store will be unpublished, and the public will not be able to view or purchase your images. They will see a simple message on your Store URL explaining that it is in an unpublished state, but will not be able to see your images or explore your store.

Q: What will happen to my images if I’m on a Lite tier and I don’t upgrade to Picfair Plus by July 27th?

‍

Any images you have uploaded will remain in the Library section of your dashboard, and will be secure and backed up on our servers should you wish to upgrade to Picfair Plus in the future in order to re-publish your Store.

If you wish to delete your Picfair images, you can do this in the My Images section of your library. If you choose to delete your Picfair account, all of your images will be removed from our servers.
