Picfair's Top Gift Recommendations for Photographers this Christmas Season

Finding the perfect gift for a photographer can be challenging, since style and camera choice are very personal, and you might not be aware of the photography gear they use, their preferences, or dislikes. To help you out, we’ve put together a definitive list of 2025 Christmas gifts for photographers.

All the photography gift ideas on this list are budget-friendly and are not only fun to use but also very practical and helpful. Simply put, we believe these are the gifts that photographers actually want to use. Plus, they are suitable for a broad range of brands and models.

For some of the gift ideas listed below, we've previously covered these on Focus, so you’ll also find links to more in-depth guides that include inspiration and tips on how to use them.

1 PocketDispo Disposable Camera Lens

From £47, $44

Buy directly from the PocketDispo website

With the ingenious PocketDispo lens, you can turn any DSLR or mirrorless camera into a disposable-style point-and-shoot. The PocketDispo lens brings a fun, creative twist for photographers looking to experiment with a nostalgic look without compromising their digital setup.

There are two versions of the PocketDispo lens: a standard version and a pro version, which offers more control over the lens's focus.

Where to buy: Both lenses are available directly from the PocketDispo website worldwide shipping available.

Editor’s Note: Learn more about the lens and the disposable camera look with Picfair’s in-depth guide on the PocketDispo lens.

2 PolarPro CineGold Filter

From $69.99

Shop filters and more directly at PolarPro

The cinematic look is very much on-trend right now, and with the PolarPro CineGold Filter, photographers can add that gorgeous cinematic warmth to their images “in-camera”. It adds a beautiful, hazy glow to shots, especially in sunny conditions or anything with a bright source. It also means that there’s hardly any editing to emulate that same look afterwards.

Where to buy: Shop directly at PolarPro.

Editor’s Note: This was probably my favourite piece of kit I’ve used this year, so I’m personally recommending this one, and you can learn more about the CineGold filter with Picfair’s in-depth guide.

3 3 Legged Thing 3 Legged Thing Phil Universal Adjustable Multi Functional Arca Phone Clamp

From £29.99

Buy the Phil clamp on the 3 Legged Thing website, along with their range of tripods, monopods and other photographic equipment

This tripod phone clamp is perfect for hybrid shooters (photographers using both traditional cameras and mobiles). The Phil mobile clamp lets photographers mount their phone to any tripod that is Arca-Swiss compatible, which is most standard tripods.

This clamp makes it easy for photographers to incorporate their mobile photography into work that typically requires a tripod, such as long exposures, behind-the-scenes shots, time-lapses, and video content. Plus, it's super sturdy, well-built and looks fantastic!

Where to buy: Find the Phil clamp on the 3 Legged Thing website, along with their range of tripods, monopods and other equipment.

Editor’s Note: Learn more about 3 Legged Thing products with guides on monopods and tripods.

4 HARMAN Experimental 35mm Film

From £12.99, $12.99 per film roll

Buy film rolls directly from the HARMAN Photo website, or at your local film retailer.

This is one for your analogue photography enthusiasts! HARMAN’s experimental film 35mm film rolls, from Ilford Photo - the Phoenix II and the HARMAN Red, offer spectacular and unpredictable images when shooting.

They make a perfect gift for photographers who like to experiment or want to get truly unique images. And believe me, any analogue photographer is going to love having more film rolls to play with as a Christmas gift!

Where to buy: Buy film rolls directly from the HARMAN Photo website, or at your local film retailer.

Editor’s Note: I experimented with the HARMAN Red 35mm film, and you can see the out-of-this-world results in our guide and gallery.

5 Climbing Rope Camera Strap

From £12.99 (good quality)

Shop good quality climbing rope camera straps on Etsy. Photos from Photo by JONATHAN PAGAOA and Eline Spee

Believe it or not, for many photographers, cameras are as much a style icon as a tool for taking pictures. This is one of my personal favourite customisations I've done with my own camera - swapping the in-the-box camera strap for a custom climbing rope strap.

A climbing rope camera strap not only looks fantastic (especially in a bright or unusual colour, in my opinion), but is also highly durable and very comfortable around the neck. Bespoke camera straps are a simple upgrade for a camera, adding personality and practicality to any mirrorless, DSLR, or analogue camera setup.

Where to buy: Available from various sellers on Etsy (I got mine on Etsy) and Amazon.

6 Soft-Release Shutter Button

From £9.99 (good quality)

Find quality soft-release shutter options on Etsy.

Another personal favourite of mine, this is a small, but I would say, as a photographer, pretty significant accessory.

Soft-release shutter buttons can be added to most DSLR, mirrorless or analogue cameras that have a threaded shutter button socket, which is standard for many cameras. These tactile buttons make shooting feel so much smoother and more responsive, plus, they look great in vintage-inspired designs. You can get them in a vast range of colours, as well as in a massive range of different quality and price brackets. From simple plastic designs, so gorgeous, to high-end brass models.

Where to buy: Find quality soft-release shutter options on Etsy.

7 Godox Lux Junior Retro Camera Flash Speedlite

From £73.99

That bright, head-on '90s party-style flash look is very much in vogue right now (think how popular disposable cameras are, too). With this flash gun from Godox, vintage design meets modern performance.

The Lux Junior brings a nostalgic touch to digital images. When used, it’s a brilliant little piece of kit for photographing night events, street scenes, portraits, and so on.

Where to buy: Available from Godox and major photo retailers.

8 Camera Cube from Peak Design

From £42.99, $49.95

Order the Camera Cube V2 directly from Peak Design

Camera cubes are a fantastic solution for photographers to keep their gear safe while travelling. Camera accessory retailer, Peak Design, leads the way with these. Their Camera Cube V2 comes in a range of sizes. It fits neatly inside backpacks or other luggage and offers flexible dividers for lenses, cameras, and accessories. The quality of their camera cubes are superior, a must-have for travel photographers, and will make the perfect gift.

Where to buy: Order directly from Peak Design.

9 Luminar Neo - One-Off Purchase

From £69.99, $99.99

Learn more or buy on the Skylum website

Photography subscriptions for editing software suites can be expensive, especially for those just starting. But, there’s a great alternative to a subscription plan:

Luminar Neo is an editing suite available as a one-time purchase that makes photo editing fast, creative, and intuitive. It’s a perfect gift for photographers who want powerful results without complex workflows or monthly subscriptions, and it doesn’t break the bank.

Where to buy: Learn more or buy on the Skylum website.
