A night to remember. 10 spectacular Northern Lights shots uploaded to Picfair Stores from this weekend's awe-inspiring solar storm.
If you've been online the past few days, whether that's reading the news, or scrolling through your social media feed, you'll no doubt have come across pictures of the solar storm which started May 10th 2024. It was the strongest in decades and widely viewable across the Northern Hemisphere, from Siberia, to Northern Europe an to the East and West coasts of North America.
It meant that the Aurora Borealis (or Northern Lights) phenomenon was visible over a much more expensive area compared to usual, and in places where it isn't normally seen, or in conditions where it would normally be impossible to see (I even managed to see it with the eye through the light pollution of Glasgow!). It truly was a sight to behold, and for the millions who managed to capture a glimpse–no doubt a night to remember.
For us photographers, capturing the Northern Lights is something of a bucket list accomplishment, and we've already seen some stunners uploaded to Picfair Stores over the weekend.
Here are some of our favourite shots uploaded (so far) by Picfair photographers, we hope you enjoy!
