Beth started her photography journey at a very young age after getting her first Fujifilm bridge camera at the age of 12, and then proceeded to discreetly sneak her camera into venues to photograph local gigs at the age of 14. Having studied photography at college, and eventually obtaining a Master’s degree in the subject at University, Beth is pretty familiar with darkroom processes, how to set up a studio, and has hands-on experience shooting all sorts of camera gear from almost every major brand (she’s not a huge fan of Nikon, though).
Beth is a full-time contributor to the online platform, Digital Camera World, where she can be found in the office consuming endless mochas while writing up the latest industry news and competition highlights, and occasionally getting to review some pretty niche products such as patrol robots, electronic photography blowers, and flagship phones that have thermal imaging and night vision cameras built into them.
When it comes to her own portfolio, Beth has recently fallen in love with the art of cosplay photography, working with models and talented cosplayers to create portraits that appear to have been taken straight out of a comic book, with endless creativity to be had. Dogtography is another keen interest of hers, working with woofers to create heart-warming pet portraits, and then there’s of course live music photography which has taken a bit of a backseat following the global shut-down we all faced, but soon to be a passion that’s reignited.
- Beth is especially proud of her article that she got to publish on one of the most famous photographers in the fictional world, Peter Parker
- As well as a recent interview she had with music photography legend, Denis O’Regan
- Beth has also written extensively about her favorite gaming franchise, and how this can be a tool for educating the next generation of photographers
Beth holds a Master’s (MA) Degree in photography from the University of Brighton, as well as a BA (Hons) Degree in Music Journalism from the British Institute of Modern Music (BIMM) in Brighton, and also a Level 3 UAL Extended Diploma in Photography from her time studying at Weston College.
Beth has always wanted to be a music photographer, inspired by photographers such as Adam Elmakias, Ashley Osborn, and Guadalupe Bustos. Her favourite band is The Maine.
